Moravian Selects Kuhn & Lakata as 2021-22 Golf Captains

Thomas Lakata and Nick Kuhn as golf captains

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University golf team has selected graduate students Nick Kuhn and Thomas Lakata as its captains for the 2021-22 season.

"Nick and Thomas were unanimous choices for captains," stated Head Coach Kevin Edwards, who is his 12th year at his alma mater. "They are both returning to school for their post graduate degrees, and their experience and maturity will be a great fit to lead the team."

Kuhn earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference First Team in 2019 with a fourth-place finish at the conference tournament. In his four seasons as an undergraduate, Kuhn averaged 80.26 strokes per round over 39 rounds and enters the year ranked 13th in program history in career scoring average.

Lakata is a three-time Landmark All-Conference Second Team honoree as he tied for 12th in 2021, tied for ninth in 2019 and finished 10th in 2018. Lakata begins his final season with a career average of 82.23 strokes per round over 35 rounds with the Greyhounds.

Moravian is scheduled to begin the fall portion of the 2021-22 season on Saturday and Sunday, September 11-12 in The Gauntlet hosted by Premier College Events. The 36-hole tournament was originally scheduled to be played at the Shawnee Inn & Resort but due to flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Ida, the two rounds will now be played at Olde Homestead Golf Course.
