Greyhounds Sit in Fourth Place After Opening Round 0f 2022 Landmark Conference Championships, Seven Shots Off the Lead

PIKESVILLE, Md. --- The Moravian University golf team sits in fourth place of eight teams after the opening round of the 2022 Landmark Conference Championships being hosted by Goucher College at Woodholme Country Club Friday.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds shot at opening round 328 and trail leader The Catholic University of America by seven strokes. The University of Scranton is second, just four strokes ahead of the Hounds, and Drew University is in third with a 325
  • The Blue and Grey have a six-stroke lead over the host Gophers
  • The second round will take place on Saturday with Moravian teeing off in the second set of groupings around 12:00 p.m. The winner of the conference title gets an automatic berth to the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championships 

Moravian Results

  • Graduate student Thomas Lakata is tied for fourth of 40 golfers after a six-over par round of 79 that included one birdie and 10 pars
  • Freshman TJ Bohl is currently tied for 11th with an 82 in the first round, and he had a birdie and eight pars
  • Senior Will Breslin is one shot back and tied for 13th after an 83 that included 11 pars
  • Graduate student Nick Kuhn is tied for 18th with an 84 that saw him make nine pars
  • Junior Andrew Hozza carded an 87 in the opening round to sit in a tie for 30th, and he made eight pars
