Kuhn Earns Medalist Honors & Hounds Shoot 295 to Win Ursinus Invitational

POTTSTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian University golf team shot its lowest round of the season with a four-man score of 295 to win the Ursinus College Invitational Tuesday played at the Raven's Claw Golf Club.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds had had a team score of 295 with all five Hounds playing on Tuesday shooting rounds of 78 or better including a pair of even par 71 rounds
  • Moravian finished nine strokes ahead of runner-up Rosemont College, which shot a 304
  • The sub-300 team score was the first for the Blue and Grey since a 298 to win the Moravian Spring Invitational at Southmore Golf Course on April 12, 2018, and the round is the lowest since the Greyhounds turned in a school-record low of 291 on April 5, 2016 to win the Moravian Invitational at Woodstone Country Club

Moravian Results

  • Graduate student Nick Kuhn would earn medalist honors of the 57 golfers with an even par round of 71, edging fellow graduate student Thomas Lakata for first place with a lower back nine score of 35-38. Kuhn's 71 was the lowest round of his collegiate career and included an eagle, two birdies and 12 pars
  • Lakata also carded the lowest round of his college career by four strokes, and he had the lowest nine holes of the tournament with a 33 on the front nine. Lakata finished with four birdies and 10 pars in his round
  • Freshman TJ Bohl tied for tenth in the tournament with a round of 76 that included a pair of birdies and 11 pars
  • Junior Andrew Hozza carded his fourth consecutive 77 of the season to tie for 13th, and Hozza had a birdie and 12 pars on his scorecard
  • Senior Will Breslin rounded out the Moravian line-up and tied for 16th overall with a 78. He had a pair of birdies and 12 pars in the round
