BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's golf program hosted the Weyhill Classic at Saucon Valley Country Club's Weyhill Course on Monday afternoon, finishing third out of nine teams.

How It Happened

  • Moravian hosted its first Weyhill Classic at Saucon Valley Country Club since the Fall of 2019.
  • The Greyhounds' squad had a team score of 319 to finish in third place. Gettysburg College totaled a low team score of 302 to claim first place, while Alvernia University, who had turned in the lowest individual scores, finished second with a 307.

Moravian Results

  • Graduate student Thomas Lakata and junior Andrew Hozza each carded 77's, leading the Greyhounds individually, and finishing tied for sixth place. Lakata shot a pair of birdies and eight pars for his 77, while Hozza birdied one hole and parred ten to shoot his third-consecutive 77 in three straight days.
  • The third Greyhound to break 80 was freshman TJ Bohl, shooting a 79. Bohl turned in a card with three birdies and seven pars to finish tied for 11th.

Quotable

  • "It feels great to be out on the golf course with the guys," commented Head Coach Kevin Edwards. "It's nice to see the guys back on the course, especially Nick and Thomas coming back as graduate students. Some of the guys were a little tired, playing three days in a row, and we haven't done that in a while and it reflected in some of the scores. But overall, the last three rounds have been pretty solid for us."
