Moravian Finishes Sixth at The Ruckus to Begin 2022 Spring Season

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. --- The Moravian University golf team finished in sixth of 12 teams at the Ruckus, a two-day, 36-hole tournament played on the Jamestown Course of the Williamsburg National Golf Club. 

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds had a two-day team total of 648 while McDaniel won the tournament with a score of 605. Moravian posted a 319 on Sunday to move up from ninth to sixth after recording a 329 in the first round

Moravian Results

  • Graduate student Thomas Lakata led the Greyhounds with a 36-hole total of 152 as he finished in eighth place of the 63 golfers. Lakata had an opening round of 78 with two birdies and eight pars on Saturday while carding a three-over par round of 74 on Sunday that included a pair of birdies and 12 pars
  • Junior Andrew Hozza placed 38th with a two-day total of 164 that included rounds of 81 with a birdie and eight pars and 83 with 11 pars
  • Graduate student Nick Kuhn finished with a 169 to finished 43rd, and he had rounds of 89 with seven pars and 80 with 12 pars
  • Freshman TJ Bohl was one stroke back with a tournament score of 170 including an 88 with seven pars and an 82 with a pair of birdies and seven pars
  • Freshman Jason Koch recorded an opening round of 82 with nine pars but was disqualified during the second round
