124 Greyhounds Named to 2022 Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll

TOWSON, Md. --- The Landmark Conference announced its 2022 Spring Academic Honor Roll selections today including 124 student-athletes from Moravian University. The Honor Roll recognizes all winter and spring student-athletes who have reached sophomore standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.

In a change to the Landmark Conference awards structure that began in 2020-21, the spring semester academic honor roll now includes all spring sports as well as men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming & diving, and men's and women's indoor track & field.

Moravian had student-athletes from 14 of its winter and spring teams that compete in the conference with the men's track & field program leading the way with 32 honorees including 16 both outdoors and indoors. The women's track & field team had 23 total honorees with 10 indoors and 13 outdoors while the women's lacrosse squad had 14 selections and the baseball team had 11 student-athletes selected. The men's lacrosse program registered 10 honorees followed by the women's basketball squad with nine. The softball team had six student-athletes honored followed by the women's tennis and golf programs with five and the men's basketball team with four selections. The women's swimming program had three honorees in its first season while the men's tennis team had a pair of student-athletes selected.

The men's track & field team finished third at the 2022 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships and had graduate students Peter Gingrich and Shane Mastro making the Academic Honor Roll both indoors and outdoors. Also earning a spot on the list for both seasons were seniors Brad Clemson, Dominic DeRafelo, Richard Glennon, Shane Houghton and Michael Lerch, juniors Ethan Cherubin, Liam Duffy, Christian Jancsarics and Dan Jenkins and sophomores Lance Burrier, Marco Calantoni, Casey Frank, Josh Mangini and Brendon Ward.

The women's track & field team captured the program's 14th Landmark Conference outdoor championship in May as the Greyhounds have won every conference outdoor meet. Leading the Academic Honor Roll nominees are seniors Emma Marion and Natalie Stabilito, and the duo is joined by juniors Rachel Byrne, Elizabeth DeMassa, Peyton Herbst, Crystal Robinson, Haylee Saylor, Maddie Wickel and Delaney Wiseman and sophomores Vicky Donovan, Gracie Hezel and Pia Mazella-DiBosco. Everyone on the list except for Donovan, Hezel and Wiseman, who only compete in the throws outdoors also received the honor for the indoor season.

The women's lacrosse squad finished the season with an 8-10 overall record and the program's fourth straight Landmark Conference Tournament appearance. Seniors Jamie Bader, Samantha Cherenson, Eliza Fantazzi, Eirean Perst and Lindsey Strohl, juniors Megan Donnelly, Brelyn Friedman, Emily Hoskin, Devin King, Olivia Schmid and Rylee Soltis and sophomores Alise Downey, Salome Carr and Keara Reilly were named to the Academic Honor Roll.

Moravian's baseball program finished the year at 22-18 in 2022. Graduate student Brett Moyer, seniors David Bertolotti, Nick Montone and Robert Roman, juniors Derek Holmes, Mason Fisher, Garrison Koch, Chris Pow and Ethan Weber and sophomores Matt Madigan and David Olsakowski all received Academic Honor Roll accolades.

The men's lacrosse program posted a 7-6 mark this spring. Graduate student Tyler James, seniors Liam Dugan, Nathan Hannis, Connor James and Griffin LeBlond, junior Jack Bakey and sophomores Matt Baer, Connor Estes, Jack Swistak and Thomas Ulmer made the Academic Honor Roll.

The women's basketball team was 9-16 this past winter. Senior Kayla Yoegel, juniors Madison Amy, Morgan Amy, Jackie Kelly, Emily Markowski and Ashley Robinson and sophomore Rileigh Serroni along with Donovan and Hezel from women's outdoor track & field garnered spots on the Academic Honor Roll.

The softball squad finished as the runner-up in the 2022 Landmark Conference Tournament and completed the season with a 29-5 record. Seniors Alexis Agrapides, Maddisen Bieber, Victoria Smith and Brooke Wehr, juniors Nicole Cassano, Victoria Smith and Chloe Tice, junior Madison Hummel and sophomore Emily Silberman all earned spots on the Academic Honor Roll.

The women's tennis team posted a 14-4 overall record this year while finishing as the runner-up in the Landmark Conference Tournament. Senior Morgan Colver, juniors Julianne Cassady, Maddie Figiel and Cristina Merone and sophomore Megan O'Brien each received a nod on the Academic Honor Roll.

The men's tennis team and men's golf squad shared junior Andrew Hozza, who participated in both sports for the third year, on the Academic Honor Roll. Junior Justin Szaro from the men's tennis program, which was 8-7 on the season, and graduate students Nick Kuhn and Thomas Lakata, junior Jack Wagner and sophomore Sam Mortazavi from the men's golf team that was third at the 2022 Landmark Conference Championships also earned Academic Honor Roll accolades.

The men's basketball squad, which was 9-16 this year, had juniors Nate Dougherty and Joe Paulillo and sophomores Thomas Abato and Alex Dietz selected to the Academic Honor Roll.

The women's swimming team had juniors Jaelyn Mitchell, Sydney Steere and Marissa Werner honored on the Academic Honor Roll in the program's inaugural season.
