BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University is continuing to look back at its 2021-22 athletic campaign. The final contest in the Top 10 Exciting Games from the past year is our No. 1 highlight – the men's swimming squad earning the program's first-ever victory with a 52-44 win at Juniata College on November 20.
The Greyhounds swam in their first varsity season in 2021-22, and the dual meet at Juniata was just the Blue and Grey's third-ever competition.
Freshman Harrison Ziegler scored the first nine points of the day by winning the 800-meter freestyle in 10:32.94, and freshman Davin Glynn added another nine points when he captured the 200-meter freestyle in 2:10.64. Freshman Billy Stergianopoulos stretched Moravian's edge to 22-13 with four points for a second-place finish in the 50-meter freestyle in 29.84 seconds.
Glynn picked up nine more points with a win in the 100-meter butterfly in 1:06.08 while Stergianopoulos garnered eight points, four each for runner-up showings in the 100-meter freestyle in 1:12.57 and the 100-meter backstroke in 1:30.41.
Ziegler won the 400-meter freestyle in a time of 4:54.14 to extend Moravian's edge to 48-35 with one event remaining, and Glynn finished the afternoon with a runner-up in the 100-meter breaststroke in a time of 1:32.57.
