Nathaniel Tussey '08 - New Moravian Hall of Fame Inductee

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Nathaniel Tussey '08, an All-American hurdler, is being inducted into the Moravian University Athletic Hall of Fame on October 8, 2021 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Tussey, who graduated in 2008, was a standout on the men's indoor and outdoor track & field teams for four years as an undergraduate and one outdoor season as a graduate student. He was a ten-time NCAA qualifier, earning All-America honors three times with fifth place finishes in the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles outdoors in 2008 and an eighth place in the 55-meter hurdles indoors in 2006. Tussey was a ten-time conference champion, winning the Middle Atlantic Conference titles in the 55-meter hurdles indoors in 2005 and 2006, the 110-meter hurdles outdoors in 2006 and the 400-meter hurdles in 2006 and 2007 and capturing Landmark Conference titles in the 400-meter dash, 400-meter hurdles and 4x400-meter relay in 2008 and 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles in 2009.

Tussey, who was honored as the Moravian Blue & Grey Senior Scholar-Athlete in 2008, was the Landmark Conference runner-up in the 110-meter hurdles outdoors in 2008, and he still holds the school record in the 400-meter hurdles outdoors. In 2009 when Tussey competed in the outdoor season as a graduate student after missing an outdoor season early in his career due to injury, he was named the ECAC Division III Most Outstanding Male Performer after winning the ECAC outdoor titles in the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles.

Tussey is being joined by baseball and football student-athlete Michael Abbate '02; three-sport student-athlete Stephen Brandafi '40; men's track & field national champion Beresford "Ozzie" Brown '10; women's track & field national champion Anna Heim Hilton '10; softball player Elizabeth Paly '08 and women's basketball student-athlete Stephanie Seaman Kennedy '06 to make up the class of 2021 that will be inducted into the Moravian University Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2007-08 men and women's track & field teams that Brown, Hilton and Tussey competed on will also be inducted on October 8 while Jon Otis '79 will receive the Robert Martin Herbstman Award.
