Lovett and Relay Squads Post PRs on Day 2 of Landmark Championships

BOYDS, Md. --- The Moravian University women's swimming squad had two relay teams and freshman Catie Lovett (Vernon, N.J. /Pope John XXIII HS) post personal bests on the second days of the program's first Landmark Conference Championship in their inaugural season on Saturday. The first session of the day began at 10:00 a.m. and final qualifiers competed in the 5:30 p.m. session.

Finals

  • The quartet of junior Marissa Werner, freshman Sarah Mazzetti, junior Jaelyn Mitchell, and Lovett competed in the 400-yard medley relay, finishing in a time 4:40.38 for a nine-second PR
  • The same group of Greyhounds then swam in the 200-yard medley relay, completing that event in 2:04.03 to post another event-best by over a second

Prelims

  • Mazzetti participated in the 400-yard individual medley and finished in 5:43.70 for a personal best
  • Junior Sydney Steere, Werner and Lovett all competed in the 100-yard backstroke during the morning session on Saturday. Lovett finished in 19th place in a time of 1:07.12, a new PR by over three seconds while Werner swam the event in 1.12.82 seconds and Steere completed the race in a time of 1.21.65
  • Moravian totaled 68 points at the conclusion of Day 2 of the Landmark Conference Championships heading into the third and final day
