Hounds Compete in Second Day of 2015 ITA Southeast Tournament

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team took part in the second day of the 2015 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southeast Tournament hosted by the University of Mary Washington on Sunday.

In doubles action, juniors Brittney Eady and Roberta Scantlebury won their opening round match in the Blue 1 doubles flight, defeating Tori Gray and Mitsuki Koh from Juniata College, 8-4. Eady and Scantlebury were knocked out of the tournament with an 8-4 loss in the quarterfinals to Rachel Hicks and Emily Kochard from Washington & Lee University.

The duo of senior Courtnie Lambert and sophomore Caitlin Adams fell in their opening round match in the Blue 2 flight but moved into the semifinals of the consolation bracket for the flight with a bye and win by injury default. Lambert and Adams were knocked out of the tournament by Taylor Cooper and Megan Soderlund from Salisbury University.

Sophomore Skylar Oliwa and freshman Kate Renner dropped a tough 8-6 match to Kayla Baier and Chelsea English from St. Mary's College of Maryland in the opening round of the Blue 3 doubles flight.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Thursday, October 1 when they head to Gwynedd Mercy University for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference match.
