Women's Tennis Tops East Stroudsburg, 7-1, to Finish Fall Portion of 2015-16 Schedule

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team closed out the fall portion of its 2015-16 season with a 7-1 victory over NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania at Hoffman Courts Thursday afternoon.

The Hounds had a 2-1 lead after doubles action. Senior Courtnie Lambert and sophomore Caitlin Adams gave the Blue and Grey a 1-0 lead with an 8-3 win at second doubles while juniors Brittney Eady and Aisling Doyle earned an 8-5 victory at first doubles.

Moravian would sweep the five singles matches that were completed while sophomore Skylar Oliwa was leading her second singles match but it was not finished due to darkness. Doyle was the first player to finish for the Greyhounds with a 6-0, 6-2 win at fifth singles while Lambert's 6-0, 6-0 victory at third singles pushed the lead to 4-1. Eady would clinch the match with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph at first singles while sophomore Grace Bailly won in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4) at sixth singles. Adams finished the match with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at fourth singles.

The Greyhounds, now 2-0 on the season, are slated to return to action on Wednesday, March 2 when the squad begins its spring season in a non-conference match at rival Muhlenberg College beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Allentown.
