BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball squad fell to Misericordia University, 3-0, in the Hounds opening match in the 20th Greyhound Premiere Invitational in Johnston Hall Friday evening.
How It Happened
- The Blue & Grey scored the opening point and had a pair of four-point leads in the first set, the second time at 12-8. However, the Cougars ran off six straight points to take a 14-12 edge. Moravian closed back within a point on five occasions before Misericordia scored the final five points to take the opening set 25-18
- The Greyhounds had another early advantage in the second set at 5-2, but an 8-2 run from the Cougars put Misericordia ahead and eventually to a 25-15 set win
- The third set saw the Cougars jump out to a 7-1 edge. Trailing by 10 at 18-8, the Hounds would eventually close within 24-18 before Misericordia scored the winning point
Inside the Numbers
- Freshman outside hitter Gabbie Reigner led Moravian with five kills to go with a pair of service aces while junior outside hitter Jenna Deegan added four kills
- Freshman middle blocker Payton Reuber posted three kills while graduate student outside hitter Kat Wilt added a pair of kills and two digs
- Sophomore setter Ally Plitnick led the Greyhounds with four assists and 10 digs while freshman libero Sam Love added three assists and three digs
- Senior middle blocker Autumn Marrero contributed three blocks and a service ace
