KUTZTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's cross country squad placed ninth of 12 teams at the DII/III Cross Country Challenge hosted by Kutztown University of Pennsylvania Friday evening. The Greyhounds recorded 216 points in the race.
How It Happened
- Freshman Tara Smurla led the Hounds with a time of 24:18.00 on the 6,000-meter course to finish 15th of 128 runners
- Sophomore Amber Poniktera placed 44th in a time of 25:49.50 while senior Rachel Byrne took 51st in 26:07.40. Freshman Tori Champagne finished 60th in a time of 26:39.20 while sophomore Lily Mingora rounded out the top five Moravian runners with a 67th place finish in 26:53.60
- Sophomore Catie Lovett took 75th overall in a time of 27:15.60 while sophomore Ally Meeks was 81st in 27:27.20. Freshman Grace Tirabassi was four spots back in 27:33.80 while freshman Meghan Myers took 88th with a time of 27:43.50
- Finishing off the Moravian competitors were sophomore Rylie Murphy, who took 95th in 28:16.60, senior Peyton Herbst, who was 101st in 28:29.90, sophomore Gillian Schonenberg, who placed 107th in 28:57.70, and sophomore Hannah Kolonoski, who finished 111th in 29:23.90
