Five Greyhounds Selected to College Sports Communicators Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-District

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University seniors Rachel Byrne, Crystal Robinson and Haylee Saylor and sophomores Amber Poniktera and Racquel Ramey have been selected on the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Track & Field /Cross Country Team for NCAA Division III schools.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve. Moravian has had 56 Greyhounds named CSC Academic All-Americans®.

By making the All-District Team, the group is now forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CSC Academic All-America® accolades, which will be announced Wednesday, June 28.

The Greyhounds took fifth in the 2022 Landmark Conference Cross Country Championships, third in the 2023 Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships and second at the 2023 Landmark Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Byrne, a psychology and sociology major on the criminal justice track with a 3.74 grade-point average, was a three-time member of the Landmark All-Conference First Team on relay squads, and she also made the Landmark All-Conference Second Team once and the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Metro Region once. Byrne was part of the Moravian's 4x100-meter relay team that competed in the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, and she helped set four school relay records during her career. Byrne made Moravian's Dean's Honors List seven times as well as being a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society. She is a nine-time member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Rolls, and a two-time USTFCCCA Academic Award honoree.

Robinson, a business management major with a 3.85 grade-point average, was named to the 2023 USTFCCCA All-Metro Region in the 400-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay team. Robinson was selected as the 2023 Landmark Conference Female Track Performer of the Year for the second straight outdoor season and third time including the indoor honor in 2022 after winning the 200-meter and 400-meters dash, and the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays and placing fifth in the 100-meter dash. She was a 12-time Landmark All-Conference First Team with 12 gold medals in conference meets, and she added three silver medals for All-Conference Second Team honors in her career. Robinson was also honored as Moravian's 2023 Outstanding Senior Female Athlete. Robinson made Moravian's Dean's Honors List eight times as well as being a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society. She is a six-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll and was honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Senior Scholar-Athlete.

Saylor, a biology major with a minor in chemistry and a 3.98 grade-point average, made the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in the 4x200-meter relay indoors in 2022, and she earned points for Moravian in the long jump at the 2022 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships. Saylor has made Moravian's Dean's Honors List eight times, the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll six times and is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society.

Poniktera, a sports medicine/pre-physical therapy major with a 3.84 grade-point average, has earned USTFCCCA All-Metro Region honors in cross country the last two falls with 21st place finishes, and she also made the Landmark All-Conference Second Team both seasons. On the track, Poniktera was named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team in the distance medley relay indoors in 2023 and the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in the 3,000-meter steeplechase this spring. Poniktera has made Moravian's Dean's Honors List four times and is a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll and a two-time USTFCCCA Academic Award honoree.

Ramey, a health sciences major with a 3.83 grade-point average, earned Landmark All-Conference First Team honors in the 4x400-meter relay this spring, the 4x200-meter relay indoors this past February and the 4x100-meter relay outdoors in 2022, and she was on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in the 4x200-meter relay indoors last year as well. Ramey has made Moravian's Dean's Honors List four times while being named to the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll twice.
