BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University is continuing its look back at its 2021-22 athletic campaign. Before we finish the countdown – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – we'll take a look at the four stories that just missed our ranking: Mariana Freitas picking up her first wins as director of the men's and women's tennis teams, Mary Ellen Wydan earning her first win with the inaugural men's swimming season, Caroline Pape earning her first win as head women's lacrosse coach and Jesse Baumann garner two Landmark Conference Coach of the Year honors.

Freitas, who was an assistant coach for seven years with the Greyhounds before becoming the Director of Tennis in the summer of 2021, earned her first career victory on Sunday, September 26 as the men's squad defeated Alvernia University, 5-4, at Hoffman Courts. Six days later on Saturday, October 2, the women's team posted an 8-1 victory at Immaculata University to earn their first win under the direction of Freitas.

Wydan helped bring the Greyhounds men's and women's swimming teams to varsity status in 2021-22. She led the men's squad to a 52-44 win at Juniata College on Saturday, November 20, the first win in program history.

Pape earned her first career victory leading Moravian on Sunday, March 6 as the Greyhounds defeated the United States Coast Guard Academy, 16-12, on John Makuvek Field. The match was the third of the season for Pape, who would lead the Hounds to the postseason.

Baumann and assistant coaches Jonathan D'Ottavio and Sarah Hughes were honored as the 2021 Landmark Conference Men's Cross Country Coaching Staff of the Year after guiding the Hounds to the 2021 title at Bicentennial Park on a tiebreaker in the race hosted by Moravian on October 30.

Baumann and his staff of assistants D'Ottavio (throws), Dan McSurdy (hurdles and sprints), Hughes (distance), Rob Shaffer (sprints and hurdles), Chris Ossont (jumps) and Beth Ann Davis (pole vault) were selected as the 2022 Landmark Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year after leading the Greyhounds to the 2022 title with a one-point victory.
