BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University will be adding women's golf as the Greyhounds' 23rd NCAA Division III varsity sport beginning competition in the 2023-24 academic year, and Meredith Mutcher has been selected as the Women's Head Coach effective August 20.

"We are thrilled to be adding women's golf as our 23rd NCAA sport, and it is my pleasure to introduce Meredith Mutcher as our inaugural Head Women's Coach," stated Assistant Director of Athletics Brynn McNamara, who led the committee to select the program's first head coach. "It became apparent through the hiring process that Meredith's two decades of experience, as a collegiate golfer and professional, make her the ideal person to build and lead our women's program. I am excited to support Meredith as she recruits the first class of Greyhounds and look forward to watching them compete in the Landmark Conference starting Fall 2023."

Mutcher most recently served as the Head Girls Golf Coach in Trinity Valley School in Fort Worth, Texas in 2018 and as the Head Boys and Girls Golf Coach at Fort Worth (Texas) Christian School prior to that. She was an owner and teaching professional for four years for the Little Swingers Golf School and served as the assistant golf pro at the Northwood Club. The last three years, Mutcher has been a mental health professional in crisis prevention and a case manager on a crisis team in Texas.

"I would like to thank the athletic department for this incredible coaching opportunity," commented Mutcher. "I am ready to get to work and excited about forming the foundation of a successful women's golf program at Moravian University."

As a student-athlete herself, Mutcher received a full golf scholarship to Southern Methodist University. Mutcher was a Top-16 finisher in the U.S. Junior Girls Championship and a four-time qualifier for the Arkansas All-State Team. She received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas and has been working on her master's in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University.

Moravian is adding women's golf as part of a donation to the University. In addition to bringing the 23rd sport to the Bethlehem campus, the gift includes funding to convert room 138 in Breidegam Fieldhouse into a golf suite that will have a TrackMan golf simulator, a Putt Pro putting surface, 20 lockers and office space. Kevin Edwards '96 heads into his 13th season leading the men's program in 2022-23.
