Ratcliff & Zamolyi Named to City of Basketball Love Division III All-Area Teams; Ratcliff Honored as Rookie of the Year

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. --- Moravian University basketball student-athletes freshman Marquis Ratcliff and graduate student Tessa Zamolyi have been selected to the City of Basketball Love Division III All-Area Teams with Ratcliff also being honored as the Men's All-Area Rookie of the Year and making the All-Area Fourth Team and Zamolyi being named to the All-Area Third Team.

Ratcliff, who was the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year and selected to the Landmark All-Conference Team, averaged 17.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per contest during his collegiate debut this past winter, and he also added 51 blocked shots, tied for the third most in a single season in school history, 26 assists, 23 steals and 12 three-pointers. Ratcliff, who was also selected to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization 2022-23 Team of the Year, had eight double-doubles on the season, and he shot 57.7 percent (172-of-298) from the field, the sixth-best season in program history.

Zamolyi, who was named to the D3hoops.com All-Region 5 Second Team, the Landmark All-Conference First Team, the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization 2022-23 Team of the Year and part of a three-way tie for the 2022-23 Peter Nevins Player of the Year, led the Hounds by posting averages of 15.3 points and 11.0 rebounds per game this season. She also recorded 45 assists, 38 steals, 20 blocked shots and 15 three-pointers while playing in all 26 games. Zamolyi, who played her first season with the Greyhounds after three years as an undergraduate at Misericordia University, posted 16 double-doubles this season, tied for the third most in a single season in program history.
