Robinson & Merone Garner Lehigh Valley Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Honors

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- Moravian University senior Crystal Robinson was recognized as Moravian University's Outstanding Athlete while senior Cristina Merone was named the Most Outstanding Women's Tennis Athlete announced by Lehigh Valley Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women.

The LVAIAW is made up of seven schools, Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Lafayette College, Lehigh University, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, Moravian and Muhlenberg College. For more information on the LVAIAW, visit https://www.lvaiaw.com/.

Merone was recognized as the LVAIAW Outstanding Athlete for women's tennis as she was a key part of helping the Greyhounds to an 18-4 record this season and the second seed in the 2023 Landmark Conference where the Hounds finished as the runner-up. Merone earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in singles and doubles in 2023. She was 16-5 in singles action this season including a 13-3 mark at fourth singles, and Merone posted a career mark of 36-5. She recorded a 20-2 slate at second doubles this season, setting a new program record for wins as part of the first doubles tandem in school history to earn 20 wins in a single season. Over the last two years, the Merone and partner Maddie Figiel are 34-2 in doubles action. In her career, Merone was 48-5 in doubles action, the second most wins in program history with a .906 winning percentage that ranks fourth. Merone been a member of the Moravian Dean's Honors List seven times, Moravian's Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society, an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete and a three-time member of Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Robinson was selected as Moravian's LVAIAW Outstanding Athlete. Robinson helped the Greyhounds' outdoor track & field team to a second-place finish at the 2023 Landmark Conference Championships and a third place at the 2023 Landmark Conference indoor meet. Robinson was named to the 2023 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Metro Region in the 400-meter dash with the third-fastest 400-meter dash time in the region at 57.06 seconds at the 2023 Landmark Conference Championships, and she also made the All-Region team in the 4x100-meter relay team that third in the region at 46.95 seconds after recording the time at the 2023 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships on May 17. Robinson and the 4x100-meter relay team competed in the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championships on Thursday, May 25, taking fifth in their heat and 12th overall in the preliminaries. Robinson was selected as the 2023 Landmark Conference Female Track Performer of the Year for the second straight outdoor season and third time including the indoor honor in 2022 after winning the 200-meter and 400-meters dash in 25.37 seconds and 57.06 seconds, respectively, and the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays and placing fifth in the 100-meter dash. She was a 12-time Landmark All-Conference First Team with 12 gold medals in conference meets, and she added three silver medals for All-Conference Second Team honors in her career. Robinson was also honored as Moravian's 2023 Outstanding Senior Female Athlete.
