Moravian to Induct Four Women’s Tennis Teams into Hall of Fame on October 7

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University will be honoring the 1994, 2001, 2002 and 2003 Women's Tennis Teams all coached by Dawn Ketterman-Benner with induction into the Moravian Athletic Hall of Fame on October 7, 2022 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The 1994 squad posted an overall record of 14-2 and the Greyhounds went 6-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth League to reach the postseason for the first time in program history. Moravian defeated Lycoming College, 7-2, in the semifinals of the MAC Tournament before falling to The University of Scranton, 5-4, in the championship match. The season started a string of 18 straight postseason appearances with 17 consecutive berths in the conference championship match.

The 2001 team completed the second undefeated season in school history, recording a 16-0 overall record and a 7-0 slate in the MAC Commonwealth. Moravian would defeat Lycoming, 7-2, and FDU-Florham, 6-3, to capture the overall MAC title. Ketterman-Benner was named as the MAC Commonwealth Coach of the Year.

The 2002 squad had a second straight undefeated record, going 15-0 with another 7-0 MAC Commonwealth mark. The Hounds opened the postseason with a 6-3 win over Lycoming before defeating Messiah College, 8-1, for the MAC title. Once again, Ketterman-Benner was honored as MAC Commonwealth Coach of the Year.

The 2003 team opened the year with the first loss since 2000 but rebounded with 15 consecutive wins for a 15-1 overall mark and a 6-1 MAC Commonwealth slate. Moravian knocked off Drew University, 7-2, in the semifinals before a 5-4 win over Scranton for the MAC Championship.

The women's tennis teams are being joined by softball student-athlete Erica Klepeisz Kilpatrick '09; men's tennis and soccer player and former men's and women's soccer coach Eric Lambinus '94; former baseball student-athlete George Pitsilos '67, two-time NCAA Division III National Champion pole vaulter Abigail Schaffer '12 and four-time NCAA Division III National Champion sprinter Eric Campbell-Woodruff '11 to make up the class of 2022 that will be inducted into the Moravian Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, October 7 while Dr. Stacy Robustelli '97 will receive the Robert Martin Herbstman Award.
