Greyhounds Capture Three Events at Mini-Dip Invitational

LANCASTER, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's track & field squad won three events during the Franklin & Marshall College Mini-Dip Invitational as the Greyhounds also had a pair of All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying marks.

Event Winners

  • Junior Lexi Groff took first in the high jump at an AARTFC qualifying height of 1.60 meters (5-3)
  • Freshman Ali Haefele won the triple jump with a distance of 9.98 meters (32-9) on her fourth attempt of the competition
  • The Greyhounds 4x400-meter relay team of seniors Rachel Byrne and Crystal Robinson, sophomore Abby Giamoni and freshman Elena Bocchetti finished the meet with a first-place finish in a time of 4:13.94

Top 10 Finishes

  • Haefele also finished third in the high jump at a height of 1.50 meters (4-11)
  • Senior Helen Davis finished second in the 60-meter dash finals in an AARTFC qualifying time of 7.98 seconds after qualifying in 8.06 seconds
  • Davis also placed sixth in the 300-meter dash in 45.04 seconds while sophomore Zoey Bronson took ninth in 45.62 seconds
  • Freshman Tara Smurla was the runner-up in the mile run with a time of 5:24.73 while sophomore Rachael Goodman finished sixth in 5:45.73
  • Byrne placed fourth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:02.78
  • Robinson finished third in the 200-meter dash in 27.02 seconds while Giamoni was fourth in 27.20 seconds and Byrne earned seventh place in 28.21 seconds
  • Freshman Tori Champagne finished fifth in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 19:56.27
  • Freshman Karalyn Vashey was eighth in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 12.99 meters (42-7) on her second attempt of the meet while sophomore Callie Fish  was tied for tenth with a mark of 12.56 meters (41-2)
  • Sophomore Bella DeMassa had a preliminary time of 10.53 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, and she was eighth in the final in 10.73 seconds
  • Freshman Margie Rayne placed tenth in the shot put with a toss of 10.49 meters (34-5)
