TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University senior Crystal Robinson has been honored as the 2023 Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete for Women's Indoor Track & Field.

The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics. The honorees must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators and sports information directors. Chosen at the conclusion of each sport season, the six winter honorees are being announced this week.

This winter, Robinson was part of the Landmark Conference & School Record 4x400-meter relay team at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational, becoming the first indoor women's 4x400 to go sub-four minutes with time of 3:59.02 in conference and school history. Robinson placed fourth in the 400-meter dash, fifth in the 200-meter dash and eighth in the 60-meter dash final after being fourth in the preliminaries at the 2023 Landmark Conference Indoor Championships. Robinson also garnered United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Metro-All-Region honors in the 4x400-meter relay.

In 2022, Robinson won 200-meter and 400-meter dashes, was third in 4x400-meter relay and fourth in 60-meter dash at Landmark Conference Indoor Championships to earn 2022 Landmark Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Year accolades. She also captured the 200-meter dash and 4x100-meter relay, was runner-up in 100-meter dash and third in 400-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay at Landmark Outdoor Championships, earning 2022 Landmark Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year honors. Robinson made the USTFCCCA Metro All-Region squad indoors in the 200-meter dash and outdoors in the 100-meter dash and 4x100-meter relay.

In 2021, Robinson did not have an indoor season due to COVID. She did win the 200-meter dash and 4x100-meter relay and was runner-up in the 400-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay at the 2021 Landmark Outdoor Championships. Robinson also competed in 200-meter dash at the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships while receiving USTFCCCA Metro All-Region honors outdoors in the 200-meter dash, the 400-meter dash, the 4x100-meter relay and the 4x400-meter relay.

As a freshman, Robinson won the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes and took second in 60-meter dash while part of winning 4x400-meter relay at Landmark Indoor Championships, earning 2020 Landmark Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Year accolades. She was USTFCCCA Metro All-Region in the 200-meter dash while the outdoor season was cancelled due to COVID.

Off the track, Robinson has made Moravian's Dean's Honors List seven times as well as being a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society. She will be a six-time member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. Robinson is majoring in business management with a 3.83 grade point average. Robinson was selected to the 2021 and 2022 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for Track & Field.

"Crystal has been everything we could ever ask for as a student-athlete," stated Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Jesse Baumann. "She's extremely responsible which is reflected by her making our Dean's Honored List every semester or being a part of our team's Leadership Council for three years now. She is as devoted as any athlete on the team, we always know she puts in the work in the offseasons and summer. While in season, she is a leader in workouts and in the weight room and this has all led to her being one of the more decorated athletes we've had in our program's history. This season, she was the fastest leg in our conference record setting 4x400m relay, and was the fastest leg on our 4x200 that was the 3rd fastest in school history. She's going to be a big part of our success moving forward this spring, so we're blessed to have her continue to represent Moravian and our track & field program."

Robinson is Moravian's 41st Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete since the conference began in 2007-08, and she is the fourth women's indoor track & field student-athlete to be honored. The Greyhounds have had a total of 12 student-athletes from the women's cross country and track & field programs honored as Landmark Conference Senior Scholar Athletes.
