Moravian Women Finish as Runner Up at 2023 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's track & field team finished as the runner-up at the 2023 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by the Greyhounds this weekend at Timothy Breidegam Track with the Hounds scoring 190 points to come in 21.5 points behind champion Susquehanna University.

Event Winners

  • The Greyhounds 4x100-meter relay squad of seniors Rachel Byrne, Helen Davis and Crystal Robinson and sophomore Abby Giamoni won with a Landmark Conference Championship meet record and All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Conference qualifying time of 47.36 seconds to score 10 points
  • Robinson also won the 400-meter dash with an AARTFC qualifying time of 57.06 seconds to garner 10 points for Moravian
  • Robinson took the 200-meter dash in an AARTFC qualifying time of 25.37 seconds for her third gold of the day and 10 more points
  • Davis captured the 100-meter dash title in an AARTFC qualifying time of 12.27 seconds to earn 10 points
  • Junior Lexi Groff won the high jump at an AARTFC qualifying and meet record height of 1.64 meters (5-4.5), winning the tiebreaker with two other jumpers, to garner 10 points
  • Moravian's 4x400-meter relay squad of Byrne, Robinson, Giamoni and sophomore Racquel Ramey finished off the meet with a first place, championship record and AARTFC qualifying time of 3:58.29
  • Robinson was selected as the Track Performer of the Meet after winning four gold medals on Sunday

Top 8 Scorers

  • Sophomore Amber Poniktera was the runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in an AARTFC qualifying time of 11:39.95 seconds to score eight points while sophomore Rachael Goodman was a spot back in third with an AARTFC qualifying mark of 11:47.97 seconds to add six points. Sophomore Hannah Kolonoski earned two points for a seventh-place finish in 12:40.89 while freshman Grace Tirabassi finished eighth in 12:44.25 to score one point
  • Freshman Margie Rayne finished second in the hammer throw with a toss of 41.91 meters (137-6) to score eight points while sophomore Caillie Fish earned six points for third place at 41.29 meters (135-5). Freshman Karalyn Vashey took fifth at 39.19 meters (128-7) for four points while sophomore Liz Miskovsky garnered two points for a seventh-place toss of 39.10 meters (128-3) and sophomore Mikayla Woodring was eighth at 38.75 meters (127-1) for a point
  • Giamoni was second in the 200-meter dash in an AARTFC qualifying time of 25.64 seconds to earn eight points while Davis placed fourth in an AARTFC qualifying time of 25.72 seconds to score five points
  • Byrne was third in the 400-meter dash in an AARTFC qualifying time of 58.31 seconds for six points while Giamoni took fourth in an AARTFC qualifying time of 58.65 seconds for another five points. Ramey finished seventh in 1:01.75 to score two points
  • Freshman Ali Haefele was third in the triple jump to open the field events on Sunday with an AARTFC qualifying distance of 10.86 meters (35-7.75) to garner six points
  • Haefele also took fourth in the high jump at 1.49 meters (4-10.5) to score another five points
  • Robinson was fifth in the 100-meter dash in 12.75 seconds for four points while Giamoni took eighth in 13.23 seconds for a point
  • Rayne placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 11.06 meters (36-3.5) to score four points
  • Freshman Tara Smurla took sixth in the 5,000-meter run at 19:09.55
  • Sophomore Bella DeMassa finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdle final in 16.89 seconds to earn two points for the Hounds
  • Sophomore Rylie Murphy placed seventh in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:24.43 to score two points
  • Senior Elizabeth DeMassa took eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:12.16 for one point
