TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University senior Crystal Robinson has repeated as the Landmark Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Robinson ran an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying time of 26.05 seconds in the 200-meter dash at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational last Friday. Robinson then ran the third leg of the 4x400-meter relay that ran an AARTFC qualifying, Landmark Conference record and school record time of 3:59.02. They are the first quartet so go under four minutes in the event and took 3.4 seconds off the previous program best.

"Crystal had a solid 200m race about two hours before the 4x4 which helped assure her she could run a strong relay leg," stated Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Jesse Baumann. "Heading into the relay, we knew we had a chance at bettering our school record in part because Elena and Rachel had just run PRs in their open 400s. That belief along with a lot of bumping from other teams in her leg really fired her up and she ended up going through the first lap in the mid 27s, which has been something we've been trying to get out of her for weeks.

"She still came back strong on her second lap to run her first 58 second split in a while, which positioned Abby well and ultimately led to the quartet breaking the school and conference record in the relay. Talking with Crystal afterwards, it was clear this boosted her confidence and put her back on track with where the staff and she knows she can be. We're confident this was the catalyst to what will be Crystal getting back to 25s in the 200, sub 60s in the 400, and overall becoming the dominant athlete we know she can be," finished Baumann.

The Hounds are set to compete at the Penn State University Tune-Up on Friday, February 17 in the final meet before the 2023 Landmark Conference Indoor Championships.
