Greyhounds in Third Place after First Day of 2023 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's track & field squad sits in third place of seven schools with 38 points after one day of competition of the 2023 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships the Hounds are hosting at Timothy Breidegam Track. 

Top 8 Scorers

  • Senior Delaney Wiseman was the runner-up in the javelin with an AARTFC qualifying toss of 36.07 meters (118-4) to earn eight points while sophomore Abby McClaskey took fifth at 33.34 meters (109-04) to garner four points
  • Freshman Margie Rayne finished second in the discus with an AARTFC qualifying toss of 39.17 meters (128-6) to score eight points while sophomore Caillie Fish  placed seventh at 33.73 meters (110-8) to earn two points and freshman Karalyn Vashey earned a point for an eighth place finish with a distance of 33.44 meters (109-8)
  • Freshman Tara Smurla was the runner-up in the 10,000-meter run with an AARTFC qualifying time of 39:29.93 to score eight points while freshman Tori Champagne was fifth for four points in an AARTFC qualifying time of 40:07.28. Sophomore Ally Meeks earned two points for placing seventh in the race in 41:00.01
  • Junior Lexi Groff placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 5.05 meters (18-7) to earn one point 

Preliminary Events

  • Senior Crystal Robinson had the fastest qualifying time in the 100-meter dash with an AARTFC mark of 12.30 seconds. Senior Helen Davis was fifth in an AARTFC qualifying time of 12.60 seconds while sophomore Abby Giamoni made the finals in seventh place at 12.78 seconds
  • Robinson also posted the fastest qualifying time in the 200-meter dash with an AARTFC qualifying mark of 25.43 seconds. Davis advanced to the finals with an AARTFC qualifying time of 25.82, the second-best qualifying time while Giamoni reached the finals with a time of 26.04 seconds in fourth place
  • Sophomore Bella DeMassa reached the finals in the 100-meter hurdles with the eighth qualifying time of 16.99 seconds
