TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University freshman Margie Rayne has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Rayne won the shot put in the Moravian University Indoor Meet at Lehigh University's Rauch Fieldhouse with a toss of 11.48 meters (37-8). The distance was a new personal best for Rayne by three and a half feet.

"Margie has been a very hard worker in practice, and from the testing we did in both the fall and when we returned from winter break, we know she has a lot of explosive ability," commented Throwing Coach Jon D'Ottavio. "This was the first meet where everything started to click in place for her, and it produced a lifetime personal best in the shot put. She's getting better with each practice, and this is hopefully just the start of a lot of big throws to come for Margie this season and in the future."

The Hounds are slated to return to action at the Mini-Dip Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall College on Friday, January 27 with events beginning at 2:00 p.m.
