Dickinson's 75 Leads Golfers to 5th at Elizabethtown Blue Jay Classic

HERSHEY, Pa. --- Sophomore Evan Dickinson fired a three-over-par round of 75 to lead the Moravian College golf team to a fifth place finish at the Elizabethtown College Fall Blue Jay Classic played on the Hershey Links Golf Course Thursday.

The Greyhounds had a team score of 311, just eight strokes behind Gettysburg College's winning score of 303. Stevenson University's Ben Lukehart earned the medalist honors with a two-under-par round of 70.

Dickinson was tied with four other golfers in the field of 70 competitors with his round of 75 that included three birdies. Sophomore Jim Maru was tied for 10th with a round of 76 that included one birdie while freshman Dan Leppert had an 18-hole score 79 with a pair of birdies to tie for 21st. Freshman Andrew Garino rounded out Moravian's four scorers with a round of 81 that included a trio of birdies and was tied for 33rd in the tournament.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, October 8 when the host the John Makuvek Cup with DeSales University and Muhlenberg College on the Weyhill Course at Saucon Valley Country Club starting at 1:00 p.m.
