Golfers Take Sixth at Alvernia Invitational

MOHNTON, Pa. --- Sophomore Evan Dickinson tied for fourth with a round of 79 to lead the Moravian College golf team to a sixth place finish at the Alvernia University Spring Invitational played at par 72 LedgeRock Golf Club Tuesday.

The Greyhounds had a team score of 333 while York College of Pennsylvania captured the team title with a 318.

Dickinson's 79 was tied with three other golfers among the 70 players in the tournament. He had a pair of birdies and nine pars in his round. Freshman Dan Leppert was tied for eighth a round of 80 that included one birdie and nine pars while sophomore Jim Maru and senior Eric Schultz were both among a tie for 40th with rounds of 87 as both players had seven par putts during their rounds.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Sunday and Monday, April 13 and 14 at the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational hosted by The University of Scranton at Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic.
