Golfers Place 8th at Lebanon Valley Invitational

LEBANON, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team placed eighth of 12 teams at the Lebanon Valley College Fall Invitational Monday at the Lebanon Country Club.

The Greyhounds turned in a time score of 339 while Franklin & Marshall College won the tournament with a 307, edging Stevenson University by one stroke.

Sophomore Jim Maru finished in a tie for eighth of the 66 golfers in the tournament with a five-over-par round of 77 on the par 72 course to lead Moravian. While on the course, Maru was named the Empire 8 Conference Golfer of the Week for his performance last week.

Sophomore Evan Dickinson had a round of 83 for the Greyhounds to tie for 29th while freshman Dan Leppert was tied for 41st with an 87. Freshmen Dan Loughlin and Aaron Brown rounded out the Moravian line-up in the tournament.

The Greyhounds will close out the fall portion of their 2013-14 season on Tuesday, October 15 at the Griffin Invitational hosted by Chestnut Hill College at the Indian Valley Golf Course at 12:00 p.m.
