Dickinson Named to Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year Team

ROCHESTER, N.Y. --- Sophomore Evan Dickinson of the Moravian College golf team has been named to the 2013-14 Empire 8 Conference Men's Golf Sportsman of the Year Team.

Dickinson averaged 81.0 strokes per round during the season that saw him play in all 17 rounds. His low round of the year was a 75 on the Hershey Links Golf Club on October 3 as he placed fifth at the Elizabethtown College Fall Blue Jay Classic. Dickinson had nine top-20 finishes in 2013-14 including ties for third at the Muhlenberg College Invitational and the John Makuvek Cup last fall. He was 20th at the 2013-14 Empire 8 Conference Championships with a 330 over the four rounds. Dickinson has a career average of 81.19 over 32 rounds in his first two seasons with the Greyhounds.

"As a team captain, Evan displays all of the values you want in a competitor while still demonstrating great sportsmanship on the course," stated Head Coach Kevin Edwards.

One member of each team in the Empire 8 was named that institution's representative on the 2013-14 Men's Golf Sportsman of the Year Team. Empire 8 emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen.
