Hounds Finish 13th at Blue Jay Spring Classic

HERSHEY, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team saw its first action in 10 days as the squad finished 13th of 20 teams at the Elizabethtown College Spring Blue Jay Classic played at the Hershey Country Club East Course Thursday.

The Greyhounds had a four-man team score of 320 in the event while Messiah College won the team title with a five-over-par score of 289.

Freshman Aaron Brown led Moravian individually with a round of 78 on the par 71 course to tie for 25th of the 105 golfers in the tournament. Brown had one birdie and nine pars in his round Thursday. Freshman Dan Leppert  was tied for 40th with an 80 while sophomore Evan Dickinson finished in a tie for 51st with an 82. Leppert had 11 pars in his round while Dickinson carded one birdie and eight pars. Sophomore Jim Maru was tied for 67th with an 85 that included one birdie while senior Eric Shultz had an 88 to tie for 81st in the tournament.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Tuesday, April 8 when the squad will participate in the Alvernia University Invitational at the Ledge Rock Golf Club beginning at 12:00 p.m.
