Brown's 74 Leads Greyhounds to 2nd at Griffin Invitational

TELFORD, Pa. --- Freshman Aaron Brown shot a season low round of 74 to lead the Moravian College golf team to a second place finish at the Griffin Invitational hosted by Chestnut Hill College Tuesday at the Indian Valley Country Club to close out the fall portion of the Greyhounds' 2013-14 season.

Moravian posted a team score of 315, trailing Concordia (N.Y.) College by three strokes, which won the 12-team tournament.

Brown was second of the 59 golfers with his two-over-par round that included a pair of birdies on two of the four par 5 holes to go with 12 pars over the 18 holes. Freshman Dan Leppert was tied for fifth in the tournament with a round of 79 that included nine pars and tied his season low round.

Sophomore Jim Maru had an 80 to tie with two other golfers for seventh place. Maru carded 10 pars during his round while sophomore Evan Dickinson had 11 pars during his round of 82 that was tied for 10th with a pair of other golfers. Junior Scott Nevenglosky rounded out the Moravian golfers with a round of 94 that was tied for 37th with five other golfers.

The Greyhounds will return to action in late March when the squad hosts its annual Spring Invitational at Woodstone Country Club in Danielsville.
