Moravian Sweeps Delaware Valley at Hoffman Courts for Fourth Straight Victory

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team swept visiting Delaware Valley University in non-conference action Friday afternoon at a windy Hoffman Courts.

The Greyhounds, who have won four straight matches to improve to 6-3, opened the contest by sweeping the doubles action. Senior Austin Grace and freshman Shadi Eldawayati were off the courts first with an 8-0 win at third doubles while sophomores Mason Hudnall and Sean Kearns earned an 8-2 win at second doubles. Senior Isaac Schefer and freshman Daniel Salimnejad finished off the sweep in doubles with an 8-0 triumph at first doubles.

The Blue and Grey then went onto capture all six singles matches with Kearns finishing first with a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles. Senior Peter Demyan recorded a 6-0, 6-0 victory at first singles while Salimnejad earned a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at third singles. Freshman Neil Guarino was next off the courts with a 6-0, 6-1 win at sixth singles while Schefer had a 6-1, 6-0 victory at second singles and Hudnall won 6-3, 6-2 at fourth singles.

Moravian is slated to begin its 2019 Landmark Conference season on Sunday, March 24 when the Greyhounds host Elizabethtown College at Hoffman Courts with the match to begin at 11:00 a.m.
