Tennis Squads Name Demyan, Schefer, Rennar & Steinert as Team Captains

Peter Demyan, Isaac Schefer, Kate Rennar and Lauren Steinert named as men's and women's tennis team captains.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's and women's tennis teams have announced their captains for the 2018-19 season with seniors Peter Demyan and Isaac Schefer selected to lead the men's squad and senior Kate Rennar and junior Lauren Steinert picked to lead the women's team.

"We're excited to announce both Peter and Isaac as captains this year on the men's tennis team," stated Director of Tennis Aaron Wilf. "Both provide outstanding senior leadership and have been through the battles over their time here at Moravian. I look forward to having them lead the way during their final semester here."

Demyan has recorded 27 singles victories and 19 doubles wins during his career, and he was selected to the 2018 Landmark All-Conference Second Team in singles action. Demyan was also on the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll in 2017

Schefer has posted 11 singles wins and 15 doubles victories throughout his career, and he has been named to the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll twice.

"On the women's side, we're thrilled to pick both Kate and Lauren as captains for this year's squad," Wilf said. "Both have shown a passion for this program and we'll look for both of them to help this program continue to reach for new heights."

Rennar is 16-16 in singles action in her career including a 4-0 mark this past fall, and she has 13 doubles victories. Rennar has been selected to the Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll twice.

Steinert was named to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in singles play in 2018, and she has an 18-12 career singles slate with a 4-0 mark so far in 2018-19. Steinert, who was part of the 2018 Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, is also 27-10 in her doubles career.

Both teams will resume their seasons on Sunday, March 3 with matches versus Penn State-Harrisburg in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
