BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College announced two separate facility improvement projects taking place during the summer of 2019 to enhance the Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse on the Main Street campus.

The first project, already begun, is converting 10,000 square-feet of open space below the current student fitness center into locker rooms, offices, storage and a student-athlete lounge. The space, which was left unfinished when the student fitness center was built in 2011 and attached to the front of Breidegam Fieldhouse, will house a total of six locker rooms including one locker rooms with 50 lockers and the remaining locker rooms with 30-35 lockers. Four of the six locker rooms will be used by Moravian's teams including the field hockey, men's and women's lacrosse and men's and women's soccer squads that all play directly outside on John Makuvek Field as well as the Greyhounds' men's and women's track & field squads and visiting teams. There will also be new offices for the men's and women's lacrosse coaching staffs will also be included in addition to the planned student-athlete lounge.

Moravian plans to install lockers similar to those installed in the baseball/football locker room last summer at the Steel Athletic Complex, and will soon announce a "name-a-locker" program to fund the new locker installations.

Later this summer, Moravian will replace the surface in Breidegam Fieldhouse, built in 1991, with a new Mondo surface that all of the Greyhounds' teams can use for indoor practice, as well as the general student body for the intramural program.

Both projects are scheduled to be completed by the start of the new semester that begins on August 26, 2019.
