Top 10 Games of 2018-19 - #2 Men's Basketball Captures Second Straight Landmark Conference Title with Win at Drew

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College is continuing its look back at its 2018-19 athletic campaign. The next event in the Top 10 Exciting Games from the past year is our No. 2 highlight – the men's basketball team winning its second straight Landmark Conference Championship with an 86-72 victory at Drew University.

The Greyhounds, who are on the countdown for the second time after having the number four highlight by winning the program's first-ever NCAA Division III Tournament contest, were 20-9 overall on the year and 10-4 during the Landmark Conference regular season. The conference title was the third in the 82-year history of the program and gave the squad its fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament.

On Sunday, February 24, the Hounds traveled to Madison, New Jersey to battle the Rangers for the Landmark Conference title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. It was the third straight winter that Moravian had played in the conference championship game on the road. The contest started quickly for the Blue & Grey with an early 7-0 lead before Drew moved in front. The game was tied three times in the first half, the final time at 22-22 with just over seven and a half minutes left in the opening half. The Greyhounds slowly pulled ahead by 11 points, 34-23, before heading to the locker room with a 40-34 edge.

The second half would see Moravian push its lead back into double-digits for most of the half. Senior forward Oneil Holder led the squad with 25 points to go along with nine rebounds and four assists as he was named the Landmark Conference Championship Most Valuable Player. Senior guard Nicholas Casazza and junior guard C.J. Barnes both finished in double figures with 16 and 14 points respectively.
