BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University baseball team fell to visiting Juniata College, 11-0 in eight innings, in the final game of a Landmark Conference series at Gillespie Field Sunday.
How It Happened
- The Eagles scored twice in second inning on a home run to take the lead, and Juniata doubled the advantage to 4-0 with a pair of runs in the third frame
- The Eagles added two runs in the fifth inning, one in the seventh and four in the eighth to finish the scoring
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian was limited to one hit, an infield single by senior center fielder Matt Madigan in the sixth inning
- Senior Aaron Flyte made the start on the mound for the Hounds and allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks to go with a pair of strikeouts in 4.1 innings
- Sophomore Max Sponheimer tossed 1.2 innings with two hits and two strikeouts while senior Rony Minier allowed a run on two hits and a walk in an inning of action
- Sophomore Stefano Garofalo tossed a third of an inning with four runs, two earned, on a hit and three walks to go with a strikeout while freshman Nick Leonard pitched the final two outs, allowing a hit and striking out one
