WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The Moravian University men's lacrosse squad fell to host The Catholic University of America, 18-6, in Landmark Conference action Saturday.
How It Happened
- The Cardinals scored the opening goal of the contest before junior attack Ryan Kokoszka tallied a goal for the Hounds to knot the contest at 1-1. Catholic scored three more times to lead 4-1 after 15 minutes of action
- The Cardinals netted two more goals to begin the second quarter for a 6-1 advantage. Moravian countered with two goals, one each from Kokoszka and sophomore attack Nick Coffaro. Catholic scored four more times in the period to hold a 10-3 edge at the intermission
- Catholic stretched the lead to 13-3 before graduate student attack Trevor Dzama found the net for the Blue & Grey. However, the Cardinals led 16-4 after 45 minutes of play
- Dzama and Coffaro each had goals for the Greyhounds in the fourth quarter
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had five players record a point with Coffaro registering two goals and two assists
- Dzama added two goals and an assist while Kokoszka had two goals
- Senior short stick defensive midfielder Aden Moskovitz and junior midfielder Vincent Devito both had one assist
- Senior Gannon Mesko was 3-for-15 on face-offs while sophomore long stick midfielder Andrew Cassese, senior defender Jason Levy and junior defender James Panico all had two ground balls
- Sophomore goalie Liam Kelly recorded 13 saves and four ground balls in 32 minutes of action while senior goalie Thomas Lee posted two saves in the final 28 minutes of the contest
- The Hounds were 18-for-22 on clearing attempts
