Greyhound Men Blank Berkeley (N.J.), 4-0, on Family Day

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team recorded its first shutout of the 2018 season with a 4-0 victory over Berkeley (N.J.) College in non-conference action on John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon.

The Greyhounds, now 3-2-1 on the season, opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when freshman midfielder Anthony Nagy netted his first career goal off of an assist from sophomore forward Alec Aloia. Sophomore midfielder Jorge Aguilar pushed the advantage to 2-0 in the 38th minute when he headed in a feed from freshman midfielder Kaiden Chinchar for his collegiate marker.

The Hounds would also net two goals in the second half, the first coming on a penalty kick that Aloia buried into the bottom right corner of the net for his team-leading third goal of the season in the 72nd minute. Freshman defender Jared Stafford netted his first collegiate goal in the 74th minute when he headed a corner kick by Aloia into the net.

Sophomore goalie Michael Bone and junior keeper Yamil Yunez combined on the shutout for the Greyhounds with Bone making three saves in 75 minutes of action and Yunez recording two saves in 15 minutes. The Blue and Grey finished with an 18-8 advantage in shots and an 11-6 edge in corner kicks.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, September 19 when the squad heads to Stockton (N.J.) University for a non-conference contest beginning at 7:00 p.m.
