Fatuova & Nagy Earn Landmark All-Conference Honors; Nagy & Wilkinson Selected for Major Awards

Anthony Nagy, Rocky Fatuova and Bob Wilkinson receive awards from Landmark Conference.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior defender Rocky Fatuova and freshman midfielder Anthony Nagy have been named to the 2018 Landmark All-Conference Men's Soccer Second Team, and Nagy was also honored as the Landmark Conference Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year while Head Coach Bob Wilkinson was selected as the Co-Coaching Staff of the Year.

Wilkinson guided the Greyhounds to a 7-9-2 mark in his first season leading the program. He coached the squad to a 4-3 mark in the Landmark Conference regular season as Moravian earned its first Landmark Conference Tournament berth since the conference began play in 2007, and the Hounds' first conference tournament appearance since 2003. Moravian fell to top seed and eventual champion Elizabethtown College 2-1 in the semifinals. Wilkinson and Elizabethtown Head Coach Skip Roderick shared the Landmark Conference Coach of the Year honor.

"Bob's recognition as Co-Coach of the Year is a direct reflection on his hard work and dedication to the men's soccer program," noted Director of Athletics & Recreation Mary Beth Spirk. "It is difficult for a first year coach to come into a well-established program and not miss a beat. His philosophy and style on and off the field are a perfect blend of toughness to perform at the highest level, combined with the ability to listen and be aware of his student-athletes' needs. Moravian is fortunate to have Bob with us and we look forward to continued success with our men's soccer program in the future."

Nagy was tied for third on the squad in scoring with three goals and two assists for eight points in his debut season. He had a game-winning goal in a 4-0 win over Berkeley (N.J.) College, and Nagy scored on three of his seven shots on goal during the year. He played in all 18 matches this fall, starting 16.

"I am very happy that Anthony Nagy has been named Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-Conference," stated Wilkinson. "There are excellent freshmen throughout the conference so this is quite an honor. Anthony had a lot of responsibility playing as the attacking center midfielder and hitting many of our restarts. He combines skill and vision with an excellent work ethic and approach. We look forward to his future with the Hounds."

Fatuova contributed two goals and an assist this fall while starting all 16 matches he played in. Over his career, Fatuova had five goals and three assists for 13 points in 56 career contests including 29 starts.

"I am excited that one of our captains Rocky Fatuova has been named Second Team All-Conference," Wilkinson said. "Rocky is a hard-working, physical defender who is also dangerous coming forward on restarts. He had big goals against Scranton and Elizabethtown as well as a key assist with his long throw against Susquehanna. He gives tremendous effort every day and plays through pain. He will be difficult to replace."

Wilkinson is slated to have 21 players return for his second season in 2019.
