BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team scored a pair of goals within a 1:15 to rally from a 1-0 deficit and earn a 3-1 win over Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference action on John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon.

"I'm very proud of the team," stated Head Coach Bob Wilkinson, who has the Greyhounds at 5-2-2 overall and 2-0 in Landmark Conference play in his debut season. "We gave up a goal early in the second half but credit to the guys we responded well and scored twice to take the lead. Susquehanna battled to the end creating several chances that could have tied the game. We were able to get a third with them pushing people forward. It was a true team effort."

After a scoreless first half, the River Hawks struck first in the 50th minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Greyhounds evened the score in the 57th minute as freshman defender Jared Stafford netted his third goal of the season as he one-timed a throw in from senior defender Rocky Fatuova. Just 1:15 later, sophomore forward Alec Aloia scored his fourth goal of the season as he hit a shot off of a defender into the goal.

With the River Hawks pressing late, freshman midfielder Anthony Nagy blindly cleared the ball down the field but sophomore forward Ethan Blakely tracked down the loose ball. After a defender caught up with him, Blakely took one more touch before slipping an insurance goal through the goalie's legs outside the six-yard box and into the net for his third goal of the fall.

The Greyhounds had an 11-10 edge in shots with sophomore goalie Michael Bone recording three saves in the victory.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, October 3 in a non-conference match at Lycoming College beginning at 4:00 p.m. in Williamsport.
