ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team couldn't overcome a quick start by rival Muhlenberg College as the Greyhounds fell to the Mules, 5-1, in non-conference action Wednesday evening.

The Mules jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the second minute on a corner kick, and Muhlenberg added another goal in the fifth minute for a 2-0 advantage. The Mules tacked on a third goal in the 13th minute, and the match would remain 3-0 through the intermission.

The Greyhounds, 6-4-2 overall, would get on the scoreboard in the 59th minute to cut the deficit to 3-1. Freshman midfielder Anthony Nagy crossed the ball on the end line where freshman midfielder Safa Turkdonmez headed the ball back towards the goal for sophomore forward Alec Aloia one-timed his fifth goal of the season into the back of the net. However, the Mules would score again in the 61st and 66th minutes to finish off the contest.

"Obviously we were disappointed in the start of the game, but also give credit to Muhlenberg who came out flying," noted Head Coach Bob Wilkinson. "We need to have a short memory however because we play an excellent Drew team on the road this Saturday."

Moravian freshman goalie Mason LeSage made his first career start with two saves in 73 minutes of action while junior keeper Yamil Yunez had one save in the final 17 minutes of play.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 13 in a Landmark Conference match at Drew University beginning at 1:00 p.m. in Madison, New Jersey.
