Women's Volleyball Sweeps US Merchant Marine

TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball team closed out the first Landmark Conference Round Robin of the season at Goucher College with a 3-0 victory over The United States Merchant Marine Academy Sunday.

The Greyhounds swept the Mariners by scores of 25-13, 25-14, 25-23, to improve to 15-4 overall this season and 2-1 in Landmark Conference action.  Freshman middle blocker Victoria Bobyak led Moravian with nine kills and two blocks in the match while sophomore outside hitter Taylor Jennings had six kills.  Freshman outside hitter Lauren Hostetler added five kills and two service aces while junior right side hitter Katelynn Strohl had three kills to go with a pair of blocks.  Junior setter Kelly Brown contributed 28 assists, ten digs and three kills while senior libero Jesse Krasley added a match high 21 digs.  Senior outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had 11 digs in the victory for the Greyhounds.

Cassandra Palm led USMMA with 15 digs, five kills and two services aces while Michelle Danhof added 14 digs and five kills. 

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 6th in a tri-match at Swarthmore College with a non-conference match versus Gettysburg College at 3:00 p.m.
