Savite Earns Landmark Conference Player of the Week

TOWSON, Md. – Senior right-side hitter Samantha Savite of the Moravian College volleyball team was named the Landmark Conference Volleyball Player of the Week announced on Monday, October 22nd.

Savite's 45 kills, 21 digs, five service aces and four blocks helped the Greyhounds to a 3-0 record last week with victories over DeSales University, Lycoming College and Marymount (Va.) College. In the Lycoming match, Savite set a school-record for a 3-set match with a .762 hitting percentage (18 kills, 2 errors, 21 attempts). The previous record was set by Lindsey Siracusa back in 2003, who had a .750 hitting percentage. Savite's 13 digs versus DeSales was the most digs in a game for her all season.

Moravian returns to action on Wednesday, October 24th as they host rival Muhlenberg College. This Matte Award match is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
