NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Moravian College volleyball team fell to No. 4 Christopher Newport University, 3-0, Friday afternoon. The Greyhounds fell by set scores of 25-12, 25-18 and 25-11.
Junior setter Kelly Brown led the way for Moravian with 19 assists, 12 digs and four kills. Senior right-side hitter Samantha Savite tallied eight kills, seven digs and a block while sophomore outside hitter Taylor Jennings put up eight kills.
Senior middle blocker Bailey Hensen had 11 kills, three blocks and two aces for the #4 Captains. Sophomore outside hitter Jessie Kolden added nine kills and an ace while senior setter Alyssa Kidd tallied 33 assists and three blocks.
The Greyhounds return to action at 7:30 p.m. tonight as they take on Virginia Wesleyan College at the Christopher Newport University Tournament.
