Moravian Defeats Rival Muhlenberg on Senior Night

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Moravian College volleyball team defeated rival Muhlenberg College, 3-0, Wednesday night in a Matte Award Match. The Greyhounds won by set scores of 25-14, 25-23 and 25-15.

Senior right-side hitter Samantha Savite finished with a game-high13 kills to go with her three aces and three blocks. Junior setter Kelly Brown tallied up 33 assists, seven digs and three kills while senior libero Jesse Krasley put up 14 digs and four assists.

Senior outside hitter JeanAnne Carey totaled eight digs, four kills and two aces while junior middle blocker Brittany O'Hara had three blocks and four kills. Freshman middle blocker Victoria Bobyak finished with eight kills and a block while classmate outside hitter Lauren Hostetler tallied eight kills, five digs, two assists, a block and an ace.

The Mules were led by freshman middle hitter Sarah Weyhmuller, who had ten kills. Freshman setter Vanessa Pulice put up 18 assists and six digs while classmate middle hitter Joanne Josephson had six kills and three blocks.

The Greyhounds return to action this weekend as they travel to the Christopher Newport University Tournament. On Friday, October 26th Moravian will take on AVCA nationally-ranked No. 4 Christopher Newport at 3 p.m. and Virginia Wesleyan College at 7:30 p.m.
