Greyhounds Drop the Gophers in Landmark Quarterfinals

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The No. 3 seed Moravian College volleyball team defeated No. 6 seed Goucher College, 3-0, in the Landmark Conference Quarterfinals on Thursday night. With the victory, the Greyhounds tied the school record for wins in a season at 27. Moravian won by set scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-21.

Senior right-side hitter Samantha Savite led the way for the Hounds with 12 kills, eight digs and three blocks. Junior setter Kelly Brown put up 32 assists and nine digs while classmate middle blocker Brittany O'Hara tallied four blocks and five kills.

Sophomore outside hitter Taylor Jennings finished with nine kills and three digs while senior libero Jesse Krasley totaled 13 digs, seven assists and two aces.

The Gophers were led by freshman setter Sarah Johnson, who had 14 assists, four kills and five digs. Senior libero Ashley Fan had seven digs and an ace while junior outside hitter Tori Rain tallied four kills and five digs.

Moravian returns to action on Saturday, November 3rd as they take on No. 2 seed The Catholic University of America at Juniata College in the Landmark Conference Semifinals. The match is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
