BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's basketball team fell to visiting The University of Scranton, 89-62, in Landmark Conference action in Johnston Hall Tuesday evening.
How It Happened
- Scranton scored the first three points of the game before senior guard Matt O'Connor connected on a free throw to get Moravian on the scoreboard. Freshman forward Mike DiPietro hit a three-pointer for the Greyhounds first field goal of the contest to cut the deficit to 7-4 before the Royals ran off 10 straight points to build a 17-4 edge
- Scranton's lead reached 25 points before the Royals headed to the locker room with a 46-24 advantage as freshman guard Tyler Mish hit a late jumper for the Blue and Grey for the final points of the half
- Scranton kept its lead for the entire second half with Moravian getting within 20 points, 70-50, on two free throws from Freshman guard Alex Dietz with 7:35 to play
Firsts for the Hounds
- Freshman guard/forward Eric Shuttleworth scored the first five points of his collegiate career
Inside the Numbers
- Dietz led the Greyhounds with nine points
- Sophomore guard/forward Joe Paulillo had career-highs of seven points and five rebounds
- Sophomore guard Nate Dougherty grabbed a career-best six rebounds
- The Greyhounds forced the Royals into 20 turnovers while committing just 14 turnovers themselves
