BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's tennis squad recorded an 8-1 non-conference victory over visiting Alvernia University at Howard Hoffman Courts Sunday afternoon to finish up the 2023-24 fall schedule with a 4-2 slate.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds captured victories in all three doubles contests to start the match. Sophomore Matthew Labosky and freshman Gavin Labbadia registered an 8-0 victory at third doubles to open the scoring while junior Wyatt Marshall and Ronny Pimentel Ferrer recorded an 8-2 triumph at second doubles. The tandem of junior Anthony Ronca and sophomore Shayaan Farhad needed a tiebreaker to complete the sweep, eventually winning 8-7 (7-3) at first doubles
- The Greyhounds took five of six singles matches to finish off the match. Marshall made it 4-0 with a quick 6-3, 6-0 win at third singles while Farhad captured the winning team point with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph at first singles. Pimentel Ferrer earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory at fourth singles while sophomore Ryan Burke won 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles. Senior Steve Schneider finished off the afternoon with a 7-5, 6-3 win at sixth singles
