BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's tennis team suffered its first Landmark Conference loss of the 2023-24 season, falling to visiting Drew University, 6-3, at Hoffman Courts Tuesday in the Greyhounds' final home match of the regular season.
How It Happened
- The Rangers took a 2-1 lead in doubles action. Drew began the match with a win at third doubles while the Hounds knotted the score at 1-1 when junior Anthony Ronca and sophomore Shayaan Farhad posted an 8-3 victory at first doubles. The second doubles match went into a tiebreaker before the Rangers won
- Drew earned the first two singles contests to finish to extend its advantage to 4-1 before freshman Gavin Labbadia recorded a 6-1, 7-5 triumph at fifth singles. The Rangers captured two more contests including a three-set match at fourth singles before sophomore Ryan Burke finished the contest with a 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 10-7 win at sixth singles
- The loss for the Blue & Grey was the first of the spring for Moravian, snapping a 13-match winning streak that began last fall on October 1
