Volleyball Set to Host 10th Annual Greyhound Premiere Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Moravian College volleyball team is set to host the 10th Annual Greyhound Premiere Invitational that brings in seven different schools. The Greyhounds went 4-0 in the invitational last season. This fall Alvernia University, Centenary College, King's College, Muhlenberg College, Ursinus College, Wesley College and Wilkes University travel to Bethlehem, Pa. for the tournament. Moravian looks for score its third straight 20-win season and eighth straight postseason appearance. The Greyhounds are returning nine letterwinners from last fall while bringing in five rookies for the 2012 campaign that will be headed by 20th-year head coach Shelley Bauder. Bauder enters the season just 11 wins shy of 400 for her career.

Senior All-American libero Jesse Krasley (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) leads the way for the Hounds after a record breaking 2011 campaign. She had 803 digs, 118 assists and 47 service aces last fall and now holds every dig record at Moravian. Classmate All-America right-side hitter Samantha Savite (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) led the Greyhound with 347 kills to go with her 62 blocks while junior middle blocker Brittany O'Hara (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) had a team-high 95 blocks to go with her 141 kills.

Junior setter Kelly Brown (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) tallied 1,110 assists and 39 aces while senior outside hitter JeanAnne Carey (Bucks County, Pa./Pennsbury) finished with 213 kills, 217 digs and 44 aces. Sophomore outside hitter Taylor Jennings (Cedar Run, N.J./Southern Regional) tallied 179 kills, 122 digs and 23 blocks in 2011.

Sophomore outside hitter Kelianne Comitalo (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Basil Academy) put up 169 kills, 211 digs and 42 service aces. Senior middle blocker Jenny Wizeman (Sugarloaf, Pa./Hazleton) added 18 kills and 12 blocks in 17 games while junior right-side hitter Katelyn Strohl (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) finished with 34 kills in 18 contests.

Moravian opens play on Friday, August 31st with a 4 p.m. match versus King's College, and then they are back in action at 8 p.m. against Wesley College inside Johnston Hall.
